Abstract

This past summer, and continuing on through Election Day, I worked with Bob Statchen’s State Senate campaign. Bob is running in the 18th District and challenging incumbent Heather Somers. The work was thankfully easy to come by as I have worked with Bob on multiple occasions in the past, and he approached me asking to help out with his campaign sometime last winter. The nature of political campaigning is one that is conducive to future opportunities, and my first time working with a campaign in Massachusetts led me to Bob, and the rest is history. In terms of introductory experience into the world of politics and governance, I think political campaigning is a must-consider for students who are looking to get a foot in the door.
