Abstract

I had the privilege to work in Senator Ed Markey's Boston Office located in Government Center in Boston MA. Along with this district office, he operates out of his D.C. office in the Capitol Building. In the office, the interns completed a variety of tasks throughout the day, and no two days looked the same. We started by sorting through any mail we received or calls missed overnight. We would then record constituent messages, opinions, and requests, and then get started on tasks assigned by the staff team. These tasks could look like anything from contacting federal agencies to help someone obtain citizenship to researching an upcoming even for the senator.
