Abstract

Over the summer, I had the opportunity to intern at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens as a Public Horticulture Intern. A majority of my time was spent in the gardens expanding my range of horticultural skills including planting, mulching, weeding, deadheading, watering, pruning, designing, and transplanting. The internship provided me with countless opportunities to further hone my research skills and horticultural skills, work with butterflies and moths, expand my set of sustainable gardening practices, and continue to work directly with the public in such a gorgeous and thriving location. I am proud to have been a part of such a strong team of people who have dedicated their careers to preserving and sharing public horticulture.
