Abstract
This summer, I worked on a bioinformatics research project at Connecticut College as part of the Summer Science Research Institute (SSRI). I worked with 7 other Conn students under the supervision of Professor Douglass to examine microbial populations in 11 different marsh areas following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010. We conducted extensive data analysis to determine the biological impacts of the oil spill and the significance of such impacts.
