Abstract

I found my internship through an email sent out by the film department. The film was described as a nature documentary about Henry David Thoreau and Cape Cod. As someone who has spent many summers on the cape and is fascinated by transcendentalism, I could not pass up the opportunity to work on this film. I emailed Frank immediately and we set up a lunch to discuss the film. When we met, he offered me a position as an Editor. It was only after a few people dropped out of the film that I was given the title of Lead Editor. This position involved more than simply editing, but designating who edited what and looking over and correcting the work of the other editors. Eventually all of the other editors finished their sections and I was responsible for putting together the finished product.
