Abstract
Connecticut Against Gun Violence is a state-level advocacy group that works to eradicate gun violence in the state of Connecticut. Specifically, they work to reduce firearm related suicides and gun violence in urban centers around the state through legislative advocacy and supporting community-based organizations. As a research intern, I worked on a variety of projects to prepare information and statistics about gun violence within the state and how other states and cities across the country have implemented strategies to reduce gun violence. Additionally, I got to learn more about communications strategies and worked to help implement communications to target younger supporters.
