Abstract

The ALS Association: Massachusetts Chapter is a non-profit organization working towards finding a cure for ALS. The chapter works to provide no-cost services to patients and families affected by ALS including insurance counseling, home visits, medical equipment loans, community resources, and more. The association hosts many fundraising events throughout the year, all of which go towards funding research and supporting patients and families in any and every way.

As the Development and Care Services Team Intern, I was able to work with many different aspects of this organization. While working with the development team, I researched and reached out to other organizations and companies for sponsorship and fundraising partnerships for events that the ALS Association hosts in the fall. While helping the Care services team, I put together care packages, helped cleaning equipment, took inventory of equipment, and worked with a Speech Therapist helping with tasks that she needed assistance with.
