Abstract

This paper will demonstrate the work completed summer 2021, my research with Dr. Eugene Kogan '03 on the Cuban Missile Crisis, and its applicable lessons to contemporary international politics, diplomacy, and leadership. The paper describes the nature of my day to day work, as well as some of the requirements of Dr. Kogan in the professional environment. As a research assistant I was tasked with organizing documents, transcribing audio files, sourcing articles, conducting research into topics on the Cuban Missile Crisis, as well as communicating with universities and databases to find academic journals and other sources that would benefit and compliment Dr. Kogan’s work.
