Abstract

I shadowed at multiple healthcare practices this summer. The first one was a pediatric office located in Milford CT that has 2 offices, one well and one sick, 4 pediatrician and 2 nurse practitioners. The second office was an oral surgery office that had a very different atmosphere than the pediatric office. This office recently went from 2 offices to 1 office for conveniences and only has 1 doctor. The third office I shadowed was an orthodontist office. This office only has one office but has two orthodontics, a father and son. The fourth office I shadowed was a clinic and was very different from all the offices I visited. This office was a clinic and was shared by multiple doctors and specialties. I showed the obesity clinic which is only open on Wednesdays. I would recommend this experience to anyone interested in the healthcare field. It really gives you a look into the different healthcare fields and will help you decide if it is something you want to do with your life.
