Abstract
SFS Costa Rica Summer II focuses on the environmental justice from the ground up. The program was divided into three sections by three different professors. The topics include further discovery of food and seed sovereignty, the access and management of portable water in the local community, positive and negative impacts of the ecotourism within the nation, the development of sustainable farming practices in different regions, and the importance of biodiversity preservation and montane ecosystem conservation.
Our responsibilities were to attend lectures, guest lectures, and different field trips. We wrote papers in pairs and groups and conduct community-based data collection. We also had the opportunity to help local communities to planting seeds, transplanting trees, and gardening.
