Abstract

I interned with Northwestern Mutual, a financial services firm based in Wisconsin. I worked in the San Francisco office at the Transamerica Building. Northwestern Mutual offers holistic goal-based financial planning for all ages. Each client is given a plan that helps them protect, optimize and grow their assets. As an intern, I went through onboarding training and obtained my California Life and Health Insurance license. I was expected to sit in on meetings and take notes on the interactions advisors had with their clients. I was expected to make 20 phone calls a day and set 3 meetings a week with family and friends. I managed all the follow-up interactions after the initial advising appointment.
