Abstract

CPNRI is a non-profit trade association that aims to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Rhode Island. Here, I was the head of the work on a grant from the Rhode Island Foundation that would give our agency the opportunity to hold an 8-part DEIAB (diversity, equity, inclusion, advocacy, and belonging) training series. This would include finding and meeting with potential presenters, forming a DEIAB Advisory Committee made up of agency employees and community members, and creating and conducting a 3-part survey to gain information on DEIAB practices throughout all member organizations. I would also be working to prepare for the legislative session by hosting planning meetings with different committees and beginning to research initiatives for bills that we may want to sponsor.
