Abstract

Lifespan is a not-for-profit health system based in Providence, RI. Lifespan consists of the nation's first psychiatric hospital for children, a community hospital offering a broad range of health services, and the state's largest provider of community behavioral health. Lifespan also promotes research that is performed by Professors and doctors affiliated with Brown University. For this internship some responsibilities included researching data associated with adolescents/youths who are at high risk of suicide, transcribed clinician interview recordings with parents and adolescents/youths for future access, and coded content from participants into categories to create a user friendly predictive tool to assess those at higher risk of suicide.
