Abstract

Mutual of America Financial Group is a retirement company, headquartered in New York City, New York. As a corporate law intern, I worked in the law division of the company, primarily with the state compliance and regulations team. In this role, I wrote and distributed memorandums on new state law notifications, completed research projects for various teams within the company, and created a comprehensive research project on all 50 states’ compliance with certain NAIC guidelines regarding audit requirements for third party administrators. The program offered many opportunities to work outside of one’s team, meet with other managers or full time employees, and attend networking events. Mutual of America's summer internship program grants undergraduate students the chance to explore their professional interests, and produce meaningful work in their role.
