Abstract

This summer, I interned as a policy analyst with One Green Thing, an environmental advocacy non-profit, where I gained invaluable experience under the mentorship of Heather White, an expert in eco-anxiety and former environmental lawyer. The internship bridged my academic studies in sociology and environmental studies with practical application, involving tasks such as designing environmental awareness programs, analyzing policies, and facilitating discussions on eco-anxiety. While my education provided a theoretical foundation, the internship highlighted the need for practical skills in policy analysis and remote work, enhancing my time management, organization, and communication abilities. This experience not only clarified my career goals, steering me towards environmental law, but also demonstrated the importance of hands-on learning and effective remote work. Overall, the internship was instrumental in shaping my career aspirations and preparing me for future endeavors in legal advocacy and policy.
