Abstract
The internship at Weber Architects, a sustainable architectural firm in Florence, Italy, provided an opportunity to engage in research on sustainable architecture and historic preservation. The role as an intern involved analyzing the ex-STA.VE.CO project in Bologna and producing articles on regulatory frameworks, energy efficiency, and the balance between urban planning and conservation. The experience facilitated the development of skills in research, writing, and understanding sustainability regulations like LEED, CAM, and GBC HB Italia. Immersion in an Italian work environment also fostered growth in language proficiency and intercultural understanding, particularly the emphasis on community in the workplace. This internship served as a meaningful foundation for future academic research and professional endeavors in sustainable architecture.
