Abstract
During the summer, I interned at La Fundación Infantil Ronald McDonald Puerto Rico, a nonprofit organization that provides a “home away from home” for families with children undergoing medical treatment. The organization offers housing, food, and transportation, helping families access care that might otherwise be out of reach. The first Ronald McDonald House was established in 1974 in Philadelphia, United States after Kim Hill, the daughter of Philadelphia Eagles football player, received leukemia treatment at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. With the help of Jim Murray and Dr. Audrey Evans, the first Ronald McDonald House was established in Philadelphia.
