Abstract

This reflection paper explores my summer internship experience at Warburg Pincus, a leading private equity firm, where I focused on fund performance reporting and portfolio monitoring. Through this experience, I gained valuable insights into the day-to-day operations behind private equity investments, while also developing important technical and analytical skills. The paper discusses how I secured this internship through networking, how the role aligned with and challenged my academic background in Quantitative Economics, and how it shaped my understanding of my career preferences within finance. Ultimately, this internship clarified my passion for front-office investment roles and helped refine my professional goals moving forward.
