Abstract

This paper reflects on my summer 2025 internship with Massachusetts State Representative Homar Gomez, where I gained practical experience in government and public service. Through hands-on tasks like bill analysis, media monitoring, community outreach, and drafting speeches, I developed key skills in communication, organization, and teamwork. The internship allowed me to apply concepts from my liberal arts education, deepening my understanding of political theory and its real-world implications. The mentorship I received from Representative Gomez and his aide, Veronica, fostered a collaborative and supportive environment, enhancing my professional growth.
