Abstract

In the summer of 2025, I spent 6 weeks living in Italy to engage in independent language research for my CISLA SIP. Over the course of these 6 weeks, I read books 7-12 of Virgil's Aeneid, reading one book per week, as well as living in 6 different cities in Italy as they were relevant to the Latin I was reading at the time. While in these various locations, I visited numerous archaeological sites and museums to gain a more holistic understanding of the literature I was reading.
