Abstract

From observing patient care in Radiology, Cardiology, Neurology, and Endoscopy to shadowing procedures in the operating room, I gained a deeper understanding of how different departments collaborate to diagnose, treat, and manage complex cases. Experiencing healthcare in a global context gave me a broader perspective on medical delivery and cultural approaches to patient care. I’m especially grateful to the physicians and hospital staff who generously shared their time and insights, and who discussed their experiences navigating an international healthcare system. By being exposed to various specialties within a hospital environment, I am now better equipped to decide which future internship and career opportunities I will pursue.
