Abstract
This summer, I interned at the Ipswich River Watershed Association (hereby referred at IRWA) in Ipswich, Massachusetts as their Kerry Mackin Intern, which was focused on environmental education. Over the summer, my responsibilities were focused around planning and executing fun and engaging environmental experiences for local school and youth groups to teach them about river ecosystems and water conservation. During the 12 weeks I worked at IRWA, I enhanced my trip leading skills, curriculum and activity development, and had many extra opportunities to learn from professionals in my office about a variety of tasks important to a small environmental non-profit. Some of these experiences included a visit to the Massachusetts State House, invasive plant removal in the Great Marsh, networking events with other environmental non-profits, and more.
