Abstract

Professional conservatory training has always been on my mind since I began considering a performing arts career. Before this summer, I had taken acting classes and gained stage experience, but I never had the opportunity for full immersion in conservatory training. I applied to the highly competitive Summer Conservatory at Stella Adler Studio of Acting and was admitted after a rigorous process. The program was intensive, with long days of movement, acting techniques, Shakespeare, scene study, and acting for the camera, complemented by practicum sessions and guest speakers from the industry. This training not only strengthened my skills as a performer but also gave me a valuable perspective as a director and collaborator. By the end of the program, I felt more confident in my artistic voice, equipped with new tools for auditions and creative work. Most importantly, I came to appreciate that authenticity lies at the core of art, and that the role of the artist is to stay true to their craft while embracing the ever-evolving flow of ideas.
