Abstract
In the fall of 2024, I interned with the Connecticut Judicial Branch in the New London Judicial District’s Family Clerk’s Office. Although my primary placement was in family court, the Chief Clerk encouraged me to explore other areas within the district. As a result, I gained experience in criminal, civil, and family court while frequently shadowing employees across departments. This exposure afforded me valuable insight into how different offices and departments collaborate on each individual case. I found this experience to be especially meaningful as it provided me with a foundational understanding of courtroom procedures, professional interactions with judges and magistrates, and some of the key qualities that contribute to effective argument across court jurisdictions.
