Abstract
A summer internship spent living and working in a historical estate known as The Fells, former home to John Milton Hay. Hay served as private secretary to Abraham Lincoln and Secretary of State to Theodore Roosevelt. I worked as the Education intern, taking on curation projects throughout the house, as well as running programs including but not limited to art and writing programs, kids camps, and guest speakers. Through this experience I was also able to obtain skills regarding events planning, marketing, and community outreach. Additionally, The Fells is a non-profit organization so I had the chance to learn the ins and outs of what goes into running a non-profit and the importance of carrying out their mission.
