Abstract

This reflection paper discusses my summer internship with Mr Mahe Alam, a lawyer under the Judge Court of Rangpur, Bangladesh. I wanted to learn more about Bangladesh’s legal system and how corruption affects people in my hometown. Through field visits, interviews, legal work, and court hearings, I learned about the challenges people face when seeking justice. The experience pushed me beyond my comfort zone, strengthened my patience and attention to detail, and helped me connect my studies in International Relations to real-world issues affecting people in my community.
