Abstract

This reflection describes my summer internship with New London Trees, where I gained hands-on experience in urban forestry through tree planting, watering, health assessments, inventory, community outreach, and GIS mapping. The experience strengthened my knowledge of tree care, landscape planning, and the New London community while also teaching me important lessons about initiative, communication, and professionalism. Most importantly, the internship clarified my career goals by helping me recognize that my strongest passion lies in landscape and interior design, with botany serving as a valuable foundation for my future creative work.
