Abstract
This paper reflects on my summer as a Video Analyst Extern for the USL W League through the USL Work Experience Program. Though I hoped for a sporting operations role, I was placed in video analysis instead, reviewing livestream quality league-wide. The experience still proved valuable, teaching me how a professional league operates, strengthening my time management and communication skills, and giving me a chance to demonstrate leadership when I helped resolve a workflow issue between intern groups. My liberal arts background helped me adapt quickly and connect across departments. Most importantly, the internship sharpened my career direction, deepening my commitment to soccer and clarifying my goal of eventually working in player development, with an ambition toward becoming a general manager of a professional soccer team.
