Abstract

Reflecting on the experience of working a double internship at my local flagship park, Crotona Park, in an administrative and maintenance intern position. The internship entailed 5 days a week of active labor and maintenance of the park and its contituents. Crotona is home to the NY Junior Tennis league and 20 tennis courts in total. the park is an indispensible cultural epicenter of the South Bronx where residents visit daily to break free from the monotony of urban life. My job was to ensure that the visistors of the park were recieved into a clean and welcoming landscape. I handled various events and community engagement along with detailed clean up of the park facilities .
