Abstract
I interned at Yale University School of Medicine, working with a professor in the Child Study Center/Psychiatry department. I searched for, read, presented papers from academic journals, and wrote half of a paper on the psychology and neurobiology of suicide. The internship was very independent and required a significant amount of self-direction. I would recommend a similar internship if a student is motivated and is confident in their abilities to handle a self-directed project in this area. I cannot speak to interning at the organization in general (Yale University School of Medicine), as I only worked with and interacted with one professor at the university.
