Abstract
The organizations that I worked with during the summer were the UC Berkeley Labor Center and the Housing Rights Committee of San Francisco. The mission of the UC Berkeley Labor Center is to conduct research and educate people on issues related to labor and employment. I participated in the UC Berkeley Labor Summer program and was placed with the Housing Rights Committee of San Francisco. This organization helps San Francisco tenants advocate for their rights through tenant association organizing, offering free counseling services, and providing workshops. As part of Labor Summer, I was an organizing intern that worked primarily with two Spanish-speaking tenant associations. Through this experience, I was tasked with phone banking, creating material for meetings, creating social media posts and social media campaigns, and assisting in door knocking training for members of the tenant associations.
