Abstract

This reflection covers my experience working at a local nonprofit organization called Fostering the Community, which advocates for education about the foster care system, policies to improve child outcomes, and the recruitment of new foster parents. In addition to exploring the various benefits and setbacks of working for a smaller organization, I discuss how the policy work I did in PICA shaped my internship experience. Finally, I address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on my internship and PICA experience.
