Abstract
In the summer of 2024, I worked as a research intern as part of the Science and Technologies for Phosphorus Sustainability (STEPS) Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU). Under the supervision of PhD student Xue Bai and my faculty mentor Dr. Jehangir Bhadha, I conducted a research project measuring the saturated hydraulic conductivity (KSAT) of Histosols in the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) to determine subsurface phosphorus flow resulting from subirrigation practices. In addition to my individual research, I collaborated with my 15 fellow interns on a convergence research project (CRP) analyzing stakeholder engagement relating to phosphorus regulations and sustainability.
