Abstract
As of 2024, New York City enacted a set of Local Laws (97,87,84) for the built environment (>25,000sqft) regarding Energy Reporting, Energy Efficiency ratings and a Carbon Cap. These Local Laws are meant to help decarbonize NYC's built environment, currently the largest consumer of electricity in the U.S. Those who do not comply with the standards imposed by the laws are subjected to large fines on an annual basis. Logical buildings partnered with some of the largest most established building management companies in NYC to ensure compliance with these Local Laws. Our mission was not just to ensure buildings are beneath the carbon cap this year, but also for years to come as these laws become more stringent.
