Abstract

During the Summer of 2024, I worked as a student intern at the Intensive Education Academy in West Hartford, Connecticut. This is a school that provides specialized and personalized education to students in K-12, as well as a transition program for students until 22 years old. Throughout this experience I was able to shadow the school counselor where I learned valuable information about the profession, received beneficial experience working with students who had a variety of different disabilities, made meaningful connections with staff and students, and further explored my career goals.
