Abstract
This reflection describes the experience of Maximo Gulla, a summer intern for the municipal government of Madison, Connecticut. In it, he describes what the contents of the job entailed, the overall goals of the project, successes and failures, and whether or not it was valuable as a career experience. SustainableCT is a major facet of the reflection, a municipal environmental certification program designed for towns in Connecticut to achieve certified status of Bronze, Silver, or Gold depending upon their local activities influenced by the town government. Such certification is seen as useful for obtaining town grants, as well as used as a status symbol in town advertisements and progress reports. The project was overseen by First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons.
