Abstract

This summer, I completed a communications and policy internship at the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office. I had the unique opportunity to learn and experience public relations within a government agency. Throughout the summer, I attended various events, created multimedia content, wrote press releases, built a website, synthesized research, and helped in the coordination of projects within the department. In the policy department of the agency, I furthered my knowledge of policy compliance and the agency-wide internal policies and procedures.
