Abstract
This past summer I completed the Dental Assisting Program at the Boston University Dental School supported by the career office funding. Through hands on training with faculty and students I was able to gain skills to prepare me to be a dental assistant, as well as prepare myself for the future for dental school. During this time I gained certifications with Infection Prevention and Control, Radiology, and Basic Life Support. During this time there were lectures that helped us to prepare for the National Entry Level Dental Assistant Exam. I also was prepared with the practical skills, where I learned assisting in multiple types of procedures, and assisted in different specialties. This opportunity not only helped me confirm my interest in the dental field, but also gave me mentorship with people in the dental world to help me in my future endeavors.
