Abstract
This reflection paper explores my experience completing an online pharmacy technician certification course through Connecticut College’s Career Action Funding program. The course provided both technical knowledge, such as medication classifications, dosage calculations, and pharmacy law, and professional skills including time management, organization, critical thinking, and self-motivation. I discuss how my liberal arts education, particularly courses in psychology, chemistry, law, and mathematics, prepared me for the material and enhanced my understanding of pharmacy operations. The experience allowed me to reflect on workplace ethics, patient safety, and stress management, while also reinforcing my long-term academic and career goals as a neuroscience major. Overall, the course offered meaningful professional preparation, personal growth, and insights that connect my classroom learning with real-world healthcare applications.
