Abstract

This summer I had the opportunity to be a part of Connecticut College’s Summer Science Research Institute. This program allows college students to get real world research experience while working with accomplished scientists. It also allows for networking with the other future scientists in the program through weekly colloquiums. In these colloquiums each lab presents their research, so we all know what the others are working on. In this program I worked under Professor Taegan McMahon, with 3 other students. We conducted research about Batrocochytrium dendrobatidis, an infectious fungus that is detrimental to amphibian populations.
