Abstract
This summer, I was selected for the NSF Physics REU Internship at the University of Colorado Boulder. I worked in the Electrical Engineering department within the Optics & Photonics group. My work involved an ytterbium fiber laser, which required knowledge in electromagnetism, nonlinear optics, fiber optics, free space optics, and wave propogation. This work concluded with a renewed and functioning laser, which I presented on to my REU peers and submitted a paper on to the faculty of the NSF Physics REU.
