Abstract

This paper reflects on my internship as a Climate Intern with the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV). During this experience, I learned how advocacy organizations influence environmental policy while also building skills in communication, organization, and collaboration. I worked on projects such as writing legislative summaries, managing social media content, and analyzing scorecards, which taught me how to share complex ideas in clear and engaging ways. Balancing these responsibilities with my coursework pushed me to improve my time management and adaptability. Overall, the internship not only connected my studies in Environmental Studies and Government to real-world advocacy but also confirmed my interest in pursuing a career in public health and environmental justice.
