Abstract
This reflection paper discusses my summer 2025 experiences as a Student Support & Administrative Assistant at Friends of Crown Heights (FOCH) – Brooklyn Arts & Science Elementary School in New York City, supported by funding from the Career Action Program, as well as my continued work on a budgeting application with the New London Homeless Hospitality Center (NLHHC). The paper explores how I found these opportunities, the professional and personal skills I developed, and the challenges I faced in both educational and nonprofit settings. It highlights how my liberal arts education at Connecticut College prepared me to adapt, communicate, and think critically, while also shaping my interest in the intersection of technology, education, and community engagement. Through reflection on successes, setbacks, and ethical considerations, I connect these experiences to my evolving career goals and commitment to applying my skills for social impact.
