Abstract
This reflection documents my summer internship experience as a financial analyst intern at FBB Capital Partners, where I worked under senior partner Mike Bailey. Through connections made in the sailing community during my work as a sailboat race coach, I secured this opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial modeling and stock analysis. The internship involved reading financial documents, creating financial models for stock projections, and presenting investment recommendations. I developed critical skills in time management, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration while building models that predicted stock performance. This experience confirmed my interest in pursuing a career in finance and highlighted both my analytical strengths and areas for growth, particularly in Excel proficiency and technical knowledge. The internship provided tangible proof of my capabilities when my stock prediction model proved more accurate than the Bloomberg model used as our benchmark.
