Abstract

During the summer of 2026, I worked as an intern at the Penobscot Judicial Center in Bangor, Maine, within the Maine Judicial Branch. In this position, I supported the courthouse clerks, judges, and staff with administrative and organizational tasks while gaining firsthand exposure to the daily operations of the court system. My responsibilities included organizing and filing legal documents, assisting with jury duty materials, and observing court proceedings and hearings. I also had opportunities to learn directly from court staff and observe a variety of cases, including criminal, family, and other civil matters. Through this experience, I gained a better understanding of the legal system, developed professional and organizational skills, and explored my interest in pursuing a future career in law and public policy.
