Abstract

This paper reflects on my experience as an Education Intern at the United Nations Association of Greater Boston’s Summer Institute during the summer of 2026. It examines the responsibilities and challenges of the internship, including researching and developing educational materials, teaching students about international affairs, and facilitating Model United Nations simulations. The paper also evaluates my performance and the professional skills I developed throughout the experience, particularly in communication, collaboration, leadership, and taking initiative. Finally, it considers how the internship influenced my understanding of my own strengths and areas for improvement, while giving me greater confidence and optimism about my future career. In particular, the experience expanded my interest beyond politics and international relations to include the possibility of pursuing a career in education.
