Abstract

This summer I interned with Safety Insurance in their commercial underwriting department. I calibrated premium pricing in accordance with loss ratio targets and risk tolerance. I gained a holistic view of the insurance industry and the departments within an insurance company. I also partnered with fellow interns in a ~8-week long research project, culminating in a presentation to senior management including the CEO, CFO, VPs, managers, and directors.
