Abstract

This summer, I attended Bates Dance Festival held at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. During my time at the festival, I trained under leading industry professionals in styles such as modern dance and improvisational dance. I also trained under an original Nikolais company member, a dance company that revolutionized modern dance during the 1950s. Through these classes, I not only engaged with industry professionals but had the opportunity to meet and network with many peers who have the same passion and career goals I do. I made connections with people from all over the world who have dance at the forefront of their futures.
