Abstract

I spent my summer working as an intern for Maryland Writers Association. Much of my time was devoted to editing and proofreading fiction and poetry written by Maryland teenagers and helping MWA members with proofread and editing for other projects. Through this experience, I learned a lot about communication, creativity in editing, and working under deadlines. The work was largely within my comfort zone, as I already have experience with writing and thinking about fiction, but I still feel that I took away new skills from the experience.
