Abstract
When retelling the story of my internship with the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, I often say “I am super grateful for the opportunity I had, but I am not looking for something similar in the future.” While I gained a lot of valuable knowledge, I realized that I am not interested in a career in politics. My experience pushed me further in the direction of pursuing a career in law and going to law school. Nonetheless, I learned so much from being exposed to a professional environment and was able to develop skills that I can take with me wherever I end up. I know that my experience on Capitol Hill was extremely valuable and I’m so grateful to the wonderful people I worked with who took the time to talk with me and help me reach my future goals.
